Editorial Principles

Three things we hold to in the Knowledge Hub:

1. Science before anxiety. Our articles are grounded in trichology and salon practice. Pieces on fragile hair, shedding cycles and postpartum hair loss carry no product placement and no purchase links, because a reader who came for an explanation should leave with one.

2. A clear line at the clinic door. Haircare is daily cosmetic care and never a substitute for medicine. Where an article touches persistent redness, severe itching or unusual shedding, it says plainly when to see a dermatologist, and never suggests that a shampoo can treat a medical condition.

3. Honesty about what a formula can do. A cosmetic cleanser cannot regrow hair, and a colour-depositing shampoo cannot lighten dark, unbleached hair. Where a limit exists, we print it.

How we source factual claims

For regulation, we prefer NPRA, Malaysia’s Ministry of Health and the underlying legal or guidance document. For scalp biology and ingredient safety, we prefer clinical guidance, systematic reviews and peer-reviewed primary research. Commercial product copy is not treated as independent evidence. Where evidence is limited, indirect or based on self-reported experience, the article should say so beside the claim.

Who writes and reviews the articles

Named contributors are identified with their role. Articles credited to RENATA Editorial are produced by the brand’s editorial team rather than by an individual clinician. We do not present that team as a dermatologist or medical authority. Health-adjacent pages define the point at which cosmetic guidance ends and professional assessment begins.

The publication date records when an article first appeared. The updated date changes when its substance, evidence or regulatory information is revised. Styling and typographic corrections alone do not constitute a substantive review.

Corrections and commercial context

RENATA publishes this library while evaluating and introducing its own haircare lines in Malaysia. That commercial interest is why product claims and general hair/scalp education are kept separate wherever the subject is health-adjacent. Readers may report a factual error, outdated source or unclear commercial boundary to care@renata-hair.com. Confirmed errors are corrected in the article rather than silently defended.
