Shade Quiz

Three questions — one shade family

Three questions and you have a shade family to start from. No sign-up, no email, nothing sent anywhere — it all runs in your browser.

Three questions, then a shade family rather than one hero answer — your base colour and how far it has faded decide the final pick.

Nothing you tap here leaves your browser. Once you have the family, look at your ends in daylight with no filter: yellow wants violet, orange wants blue, and a colour that has only gone flat wants the same family topped back up. The purple shampoo guide has the full table.

1.How light is your hair right now?
2.Which tone are you keeping — or chasing?
3.What are you trying to do?

Why this family?

This gives you a family, not one bottle. How far your colour has faded decides the rest: top up with the same family if it has only gone flat, reach for the opposite tone if it has drifted brassy — yellow wants violet, orange wants blue.

Common questions

Why does the quiz give me a family instead of one bottle?
Because the last step needs things three questions cannot see — how light your hair was lifted, how porous the ends have become, how far the tone has already fallen. The family is the part that can be called honestly: violet holds Flannel Violet and Grey-Violet, ash holds Misty Grey, Chiffon Grey and Silver White, and so on across the eight families. Take the family to the purple shampoo guide, or write to care@renata-hair.com and we will narrow it to one bottle with you.
I am torn between two families. How do I choose?
Look at your ends in daylight, no filter. If they have drifted warm — yellow, orange, brassy — reach for the opposite tone: yellow wants violet, orange wants blue. If the colour has only gone flat, stay in the family you started in and top it back up. Of the shades reaching Malaysia first, Silky Milk Tea keeps a light brown soft and Rich Coffee puts the depth back while holding yellow down.
How long does the colour hold?
It is topped up rather than stored: the colour shampoo puts pigment back at every wash, so the tone holds for as long as it stays in your routine. Stop using it and the pigment leaves over the next few ordinary shampoos — nothing stains, nothing locks into the hair.
Are the swatches on screen accurate?
Treat them as a compass rather than a match. Screens are calibrated differently, and what you actually see depends on how light your base was lifted (best at level 7–10) and how long the shampoo stays on.
Do you keep my answers?
No — it all runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no account and no cookie behind it. If you would like to hear when a shade reaches Malaysia, that is a separate step and entirely yours to take: request early access.
